The first of many Creative Conversations at Birmingham Hippodrome

A week ago at Birmingham Hippodrome, we started a new series of Creative Conversations. The idea is to contribute more actively to the wider regional debate about the social and economic contribution made by the creative industries (and performing arts in particular).

Following a light lunch for around 80 supporters and guests, BBC broadcaster Mishal Husain interviewed The Royal Shakespeare Company’s Executive Director Catherine Mallyon (before the hit show Matilda the Musical hits our stage) covering a range of important issues: funding challenges, artistic relevance, audience diversity, gender pay gap, #MeToo, investment in schools and much more.

Join us on Mon 17 Sept when we focus on Education with The Times journalist Sathnam Sanghera interviewing a panel from Birmingham City University, HS2 College and BBC Academy. Kindly supported by West Midlands Growth Company.
