Audio Described Performances
Audio Description is a live verbal commentary on the visual elements of a production as it unfolds. This commentary is heard through our Bluetooth receivers and headsets which can be collected at our Access Assistance Point.
During silent intervals in the show, verbal commentary describes the setting, costumes, characters, facial expressions, body language and action. The description does not interfere with the performance.
Audio Described performances are suitable for all, no changes are made to the show itself.
Touch Tours
For most audio-described performance we do, we have a Touch Tour that precedes the show. Touch Tours must be booked in advance. Times for the Touch Tours will be confirmed on booking. Our Touch Tours allow visually impaired patrons the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the set, props and costumes.

BSL British Sign Language Interpreted Performances

The interpreter, who is usually stood to one side of the stage, interprets the script used by the performers at the same time as it is being performed.
