Sutton Coldfield Charitable Trust provided a huge boost to our 2016 summer spectacle, Furious Folly, with a grant of £24,785.
This grant provided funds towards the costs of delivering this poignant large scale outdoor production that commemorated the Battle of the Somme during World War One, where over one million men were wounded or killed.
Furious Folly challenged the inhumanity of conflicts past and present. Commissioned by 14-18 NOW, we were thrilled that Sutton Coldfield Charitable Trust chose to support the presentation of this work in Birmingham.
The grant also helped fund a creative learning project to run alongside this production, entitled Ten Not Out, working closely with schools and community groups in North Birmingham.
John Hemming, Grants Manager at the Trust said:
‘I would like to thank you for the truly memorable and evocative ‘Furious Folly’ performance and the VIP event of Friday. It was a very professional delivery and all the way through the process yourself and your staff have been a pleasure to work with. My feelings are echoed by the staff at the Trust, the Trustees and guests. Thank you.’
