Birmingham Hippodrome have launched a new initiative to support the creative community in Birmingham and the West Midlands.

The Hippodrome Creatives Card is free to sign up to and is open to people aged 18+ working professionally or semi-professionally in the arts on and offstage, including admin roles. The initiative aims to deepen our relationship with artists, creatives and producers and make the Hippodrome a place for our local creative community to meet, share ideas, develop practice and create new work.

Alongside building a creative community, the Hippodrome Creatives Card will also offer a range of benefits including:

  • Access to free rehearsal space
  • Drop in space to work and meet with other creatives (with free Wi-Fi access)
  • Ticket offers on selected shows
  • Discounts at our Café, Coffee Bar and Bars

Further benefits to be added in Spring 2022 will include priority access to a range of masterclasses and regular socials for artists to network, collaborate and connect with others within the region and around the country.

Fiona Allan, Artistic Director and Chief Executive at Birmingham Hippodrome explains:

“During our open conversations with local artists and creative practitioners earlier this year, we discovered a common challenge is a lack of access to flexible spaces to train and devise, and a lack of opportunities to get together socially and share ideas. We are delighted to be welcoming local artists, producers and creatives into the Hippodrome spaces to help our creative community connect and develop their own work.”

We believe in Birmingham and the West Midlands – and want to do everything we can to make sure that the creative talent of our region is able to develop, thrive, and make careers from a base here.”
