Information

UK PREMIERE

Bygones celebrates how we are shaped by what we overcome and how something challenging can lead to something beautiful. It explores a past that clings to the present, a connection that runs through space, people, objects and time.

Dancers are in flux. The movement is rigorous, hyper-detailed and virtuosic. Ghostly architecture, puppeteering and illusions create a world of phony things and supernatural selves. Change is the problem and the solution, earning transformation and the ability to reconnect.

Co-presented by DanceXchange and Birmingham Hippodrome as part of Birmingham International Dance Festival 2022.
