The National Theatre’s Barber Shop Chronicles

Following two sell-out runs at the National Theatre, a world tour, and a hugely successful summer residency at London’s Roundhouse, Inua Ellams’ acclaimed Barber Shop Chronicles is this week’s stream for the National Theatre at Home. It’s s a heart-warming, hilarious and insightful new play that leaps from a barber shop in Peckham to Johannesburg, Harare, Kampala, Lagos and Accra over the course of a single day.

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats

Andrew Lloyd Webber is streaming his iconic production of Cats starring Elaine Paige, John Partridge, Jacob Brent, Jason Gardiner and Sir John Mills. Adapted from TS Eliot’s ‘Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats’, this “groundbreaking musical” (Daily Express) comes together in a sparkling fusion of music, dance and verse. Streaming at 7pm this Friday (15) it will be available for free all weekend here.

The Red Shoes from home 

After having to end their tour of The Red Shoes early, Sir Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures decided to say one final farewell – with a flourish. The cast and creatives put together this short film bringing you The Red Shoes from their homes to yours.

We’ll Meet Again for VE Day 75 with Katherine Jenkins

On Friday, to celebrate VE Day 75, international Mezzo Soprano Katherine Jenkins delivered a historic set from an empty Royal Albert Hall auditorium. As part of the Royal Albert Hall’s online series, Katherine sang wartime favourites including The White Cliffs of Dover and We’ll Meet Again.

The Royal Ballet – The Winter’s Tale

The Royal Ballet have premiered Christopher Wheeldon’s The Winter’s Tale, an adaptation of the William Shakespeare play of the same name as part of their #OurHouseToYourHouse series.
