Birmingham Hippodrome’s Creative Conversations returned to the theatre this week hosted by best-selling author (The Boy with the Top Knot), journalist (The Times), and Wolverhampton native, Sathnam Sanghera.

The regular series, which focuses on the business of show business, presents lively debates around key topics in the creative industry and beyond. This was the second in the current series and focused on economics, education, employment and training.

The speaker panel included Gurdip Bhangoo (Head of Future Skills & Events at BBC Academy), Claire Mowbray (Chief Executive, National College for High-Speed Rail) and Professor David Roberts (National Teaching Fellow Birmingham City University). Together with Sathnam and the audience, they discussed how education is viewed in different communities and how this affects contributions to this diverse city.

During the event, questions were raised about how arts organisations can contribute more to our region and perhaps help shape more inclusive and ambitious businesses.

Guests were treated to a delicious three-course meal in our award-winning Circle Restaurant as part of the lunch-time event.

Further information on our regular Creative Conversations will be announced soon so watch this space!
