Last month 100 guests enjoyed a day of world class tennis and first class hospitality with Birmingham Hippodrome at the Nature Valley Birmingham Classic at The Edgbaston Priory Club. The Nature Valley Classic is a WTA Premier level women’s tennis tournament which attracts world-class players to compete in both singles and doubles. Previous champions include Billie Jean King, Maria Sharapova, Angelique Kerber and Petra Kvitova.

This marked our third Mixed Doubles event in partnership with the LTA and was hosted by Birmingham Hippodrome Board Members Ruth Pipkin and Harj Millington.
On arrival, guests at the sold out event enjoyed a welcome breakfast buffet and received a special LTA goody-bag. After a morning of stellar tennis, guests tucked into a sumptuous lunch with a prosecco reception. With tennis continuing until dusk, a mouth-watering afternoon tea was served before guests watched icon Venus Williams play in Birmingham for the first time and winner (and now world number one) Ashleigh Barthy take to the court. This event raised an incredible £2,500 towards the work of Hippodrome Projects.

Hippodrome Projects is our created programme of indoor and outdoor live performance, community work and transformational learning projects, funded by the generous support of our audiences. Summer in Southside is our next major Hippodrome Projects family festival, taking place 13-14 July.

Our events are the perfect opportunity to entertain your valued clients, treat a team, network with other city professionals or simply to enjoy with friends.
