We wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who donated to our Spring Steps campaign.

Launched on 1 May, we spent the week fundraising to put a spring in the steps of young dancers.

Together with donations from recent fundraising dinners we have raised over £30,000 towards youth dance since January!

This will enable us to offer over 5,000 youth dance activities this year – from free workshops and performance opportunities during our forthcoming B-Side Festival (19-21 May) to our school challenge during U-Dance 14-16 July.

There are relatively few opportunities for young people to choreograph their own work. An example of what your kind donations do for young people, is that each year we work with Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures to grow the next generation of young choreographers, which is then performed by young dancers on our main stage.

Gianni Baldi. Took part in two curtain raiser through Stratford Upon Avon College – first as a young dancer then young choreographer. Now is studying at Laban Dance School.

“As a dancer you focus on just your role in the piece. But choreographing this year I had to constantly think about everyone in the Curtain raiser, which comes with such a sense of responsibility”
