Christmas may be over for another year but the festive fun continues at Birmingham Hippodrome all this January in the fairy godmother of all pantomimes, Cinderella starring Beverley Knight, Danny Mac, Matt Slack, Suzanne Shaw, ‘Ugly Sisters’ Ceri Dupree and David Dale and comedy duo The Grumblweeds.

On hand to put our pantomime cast through their paces this January, we were absolutely thrilled to receive a visit from Michelin stared chef and restauranteur Glynn Purnell, who dropped in on kitchen staff earlier this week to say hello and meet the stars of the show.

Glynn’s visit also saw Birmingham’s favourite practical ‘yolker’ Matt Slack take on pop princess Suzanne Shaw in the Hippodrome’s own tribute to the ‘Omelette Challenge’ in which celebrity contestants go pan-to-pan in an eggs-ilerating battle to be crowned the ultimate champion.

Propping up ‘Team Panto’ from the wings as Glynn’s fellow guest judge was soul-diva Beverley Knight – who makes her pantomime debut in Cinderella this year.

After an epic scramble to the finish line, it was our very own Cinderella, Suzanne Shaw, who was crowned ‘Queen of the Omelette’…with audience favourite Matt cracking under the pressure!

A huge thanks to Glynn and our fabulous panto cast for being such egg-xcellent sports!

Produced by Olivier-nominated pantomime producer Qdos Entertainment, Cinderella features all the ingredients of the perfect Hippodrome pantomime: a fabulous cast and orchestra, laugh-out-loud comedy, stunning scenery and special effects, beautiful costumes and plenty of boos and hisses for all the family to enjoy.

Cinderella runs at Birmingham Hippodrome until Sat 28 Jan. For more information and to book tickets, visit www.birminghamhippodrome.com
