Marcus Garvey comes to help the Cummings family after the patriarch’s well-intended legacy is left in tatters as the family reaches breaking point.

Two worlds merge as a young black boy, Jermaine, is taken on a whirlwind adventure of self-discovery upon receiving a book about Garvey.  Jermaine is set to go on a journey which will change his for life forever.

Director: Tonia Daley-Campbell

Tonia Daley-Campbell is an actress, award-winning writer, director/casting director, and producer. Throughout Tonia’s career, she has been committed to discovering hidden talent across the West Midlands and has cast many short films, theatre projects and directed plays at the National Theatre, London. Tonia is an Audience Development Consultant for The Grand Theatre in Wolverhampton, focusing on developing Black African and Caribbean audiences.

Tonia’s acting credits include: BBC Doctors, Sir Lenny Henry’s BBC drama Danny and the Human Zoo, Roadside Killer, The Boy Shaped Space, Gazebo theatre’s Wanted. Tonia is the CEO of Themis Creative, a new production company based in the West Midlands. Tonia is currently working on a brand new HETV series that will be based in Birmingham with her business partner, Oriane Johnson.

Writer: Sara Amanda

Sara was commissioned to make her first short film ‘Four Voices’ in 2015 that looked at the female presence in gang violence and travelled around Europe delivering workshops. In 2017 she co curated ‘The Past is Now’ at the Birmingham Museum and Arts Gallery  and this propelled her to pursue a career in creative writing and she gained her first degree in Creative Writing and Visual Arts and Culture.

Sara went on to make several short films ‘Red’, Where is God now and ‘Hell Is A Place Called Home’ and all were nominated at film festivals, ‘Where is God Now’ was picked up Buff Film festival in November 2020 and debuted on Apple TV and her first stage play ‘Threads’ was read by the Transitional Stage Company. She is an Amplified finalist taking her film from ‘Hell is a Place Called Home’ to stage. Sara as a script supervisor for the BBC on ‘Doctors’ and has just finished working on the Netflix funded interactive film ‘Save Luna’ for Whatfii. Sara is currently studying Applied Theatre at The Royal
