On Friday 30th May from 12pm-6pm, we are opening the 10th B-SIDE Hip-Hop Festival with another Young Community Drop In!
Suitable for any young person 14+, the B-SIDE drop in has all the chilled vibes of our regular Young Community Drop Ins but with a focus on all things Hip Hop. Expect everything from a DJ to dance workshops delivered by leading industry professionals. All of our workshops are suitable for those who want to try something new, or those who are honing their skills – there really is something for everyone!
As always, this event is completely FREE, there will be snacks, crafts and lots of fun!
We have a range of workshops happening throughout the day, starting at 12pm! Arrive from 11.45am onwards to see what’s happening!

Production Workshop with Mr. Auden Allen
Mr. Auden Allen is a DJ, curator, and sonic architect, blending familiar classics with unexpected rhythms to ignite the dancefloor. With a résumé spanning the Commonwealth Games, Footasylum, and top venues, he crafts immersive sets that move crowds. As the visionary behind Elementz and a dedicated mentor, he’s more than a DJ—he’s an experience.
Join Mr. Auden Allen in this workshop to learn more about producing beats – suitable for those looking to build on their skills or those who want to learn something new!
Mr.Auden Allen will also be on the decks soundtracking the day!
Marshon: Future of Musical Theatre and Hip Hop
Join Melody Sinclair-Marsh, Co-Founder and Co-Director of Marshon Dance Company, Associate Choreographer for SIX The Musical (West End, UK & International Tour, Norwegian Cruise Lines and Chicago Shakespeare Theatre), Choreographer for Unfortunate: The Untold Story of Ursula The Sea Witch (London & UK Tour) and Choreographer for #50 Days: A State Of The Nation Grime Musical (Birmingham Hippodrome/BYMT) to explore the connection between Hip Hop and Musical Theatre.
This workshop is an exciting introduction to the fusion of musical theatre and hip hop. We will explore blending movement and character to bring scenes to life. Whether you have passion in musical theatre, hip hop or another movement form, come and learn how to combine your skills to be at the forefront of the dance world!
Marshon: Hip Hop Foundations
Returning for another Young Community Drop In, explore Hip Hop with Nathan Marsh, Co-Founder and Co-Director of Marshon Dance Company. Marshon’s mission is to offer affordable, high-quality dance training to the community. They specialise in a wide range of street dance styles and choreography. Nathan’s specialities are hip hop and krump and Nathan has also trained in house dance, popping and breaking.
This workshop will focus on hip hop foundations. Participants will also learn dynamic Marshon choreography, offering a high-energy experience. So come and try something new or continue to build your skills as a dancer.
Vogue and Waacking Workshop
Originally from the Netherlands, Shahin Damka is a professional dancer, teacher, artist, organiser, and community builder who specialises in waacking and voguing. Shahin has travelled internationally to work on his art and acquire knowledge and foundations about these dance styles and cultures as well as competing and winning All Style battles in the Netherlands, Europe, the United States and Asia. This year, Shahin is also a judge at B-SIDE!
It doesn’t matter if you’re an experienced mover or not, come and express yourself through dance in this super fun and inclusive space!
Crafts with Bobbie Petford
Bobbie is back! This time bringing some Hip-Hop inspired crafts. As always, whatever you create you can take home!
This space is always a calm environment and this time will be soundtracked by the amazing Mr. Auden Allen, DJing throughout the day!
