Hit the Ode is a unique performance poetry night bringing world-class spoken word artists to the heart of Birmingham. One regional, one national and one international poet perform alongside open micers.
Artists this month:
Joshua Judson is a poet from Nottingham and an active member of Barbican Young Poets in London. His work has been published in The North and Magma among other journals.
Jolade Olusanya is a poet, director and photographer from East London. He was a finalist in the first ever Young Poet Laureate for London in 2013 and winner of the 2017 Outspoken Prize for Poetry and Outspoken Performance Poetry Prize.
Samira Saleh is a spoken word/performance artist, passionate about telling and sharing stories to bring people closer. She’s been using the important outlet that is spoken word as a tool for self empowerment since she first stumbled upon the phenomenon online. The revolution will not be televised, she will be heard!
