We offer a programme of workshops for Creatives, focusing on developing craft and expanding skills. We want to do everything we can to make sure that the creative talent of our region is able to develop, thrive, and make careers from a base here. Pitching for Writers with Deirdre O’Halloran – Wednesday 25 February, 3pm – 5pm
Are you a playwright that would like to know how to get your play successfully commissioned by a theatre? In this workshop, Head of New Musical Theatre at the Hippodrome Deirdre O’Halloran will take you through how to make the most of a meeting with a theatre and will run practical exercises to help you hone your pitching skills.
Theatre & Movement with Ashlee Elizabeth-Lolo and Francesca Robson – Friday 20 March, 6pm – 8pm
In this session, we’ll explore the power of movement and physical storytelling. Writer Ashlee Elizabeth-Lolo will help you shape your idea and Movement Director Francesca Robson will lead you into bringing it to life!
Making work for Outdoor Arts Festivals with Matt Evans – Wednesday 29 April, 3pm – 5pm
In this workshop, Head of Festivals & Sites at the Hippodrome Matt Evans, will talk you through how you can develop ideas for outdoor/public space, commissioning, key production realities – thinking about weather, environment, technical limitations and working for mixed and first-time audiences.
