What happens if my headset stops working during the performance?
You can check that your headset is working prior to the start of the performance, and an Access Champion will be able to support you in doing this. If you need support during the performance, please speak to one of our team members at your closest auditorium door.
What do I do with my headset at the end of the show?
You can return this to either the Visitor Services Assistant on the auditorium door or back to the Access Champion at the Access Assistance Point.
Where do I collect my headset when I arrive at the theatre?
You can collect your headset from the Access Assistance Point. Please use the door on the far right to enter Birmingham Hippodrome, you will have your tickets scanned and bags checked the Access Assistance point will be right in front of you as you enter the building and you will be greeted by one of our access champions.
How can I book a receiver and/or headset?

How does Auri work?
Auri uses a series of transmitters within the auditorium to broadcast an Auracast program stream to a receiver worn by the user. Birmingham Hippodrome provides dedicated Auri receivers for patrons to use. Users can choose what program stream to connect to and adjust the volume to suit their needs. Auri is also compatible with third party Auracast devices enabling users to provide their own Auracast enabled listening devices such as headphones or earbuds.
What equipment is compatible with the receivers and headsets?
The Auri receivers can be provided with a set of wired headphones or single use earbuds. An inductive loop can be provided for those wishing to use their own hearing aids switched to ‘T’. Alternatively, users can provide their own set of wired headphones or ear buds – these must have a 3.5mm jack connector to be able to connect to the receiver.
What services does the equipment provide?
Our system provides access to the show relay at every performance, so you can hear the show through headphones, neck loop or compatible Bluetooth device. It also provides Audio Description at our Audio Described performances is a live verbal commentary on the visual elements of a production as it unfolds which can support our visually impaired guests.
What equipment does Birmingham Hippodrome use?
