Birmingham Hippodrome is excited to share the release of a brand-new song from the cast of romcom musical, Hot Mess, following its world premiere at Edinburgh Festival Fringe last week.

The new video for Better With Time, featuring London West End stars Danielle Steers (SIX The Musical) and Tobias Turley (Mamma Mia!), who play Earth and Humanity respectively, has been released ahead of the show’s EP launch on Monday 11 August. Produced by Sam Featherstone, the EP features three songs from the show.

After a billion years of bad dates, Earth’s finally found the one… Humanity. Sparks fly. Wheat is harvested. Technology flourishes. But what begins as a passionate love affair between the universe’s most iconic couple quickly descends into a Hot Mess.

Created by the award-winning creative duo behind 42 Balloons, the pop comedy musical takes us to the heart of the tempestuous relationship between Earth and Humanity.

Hot Mess is the first Edinburgh Festival Fringe production from the UK’s only in-house New Musical Theatre Department at Birmingham Hippodrome. The new musical is presented in association with Vicky Graham Productions.

Hot Mess is at Pleasance Two until Mon 25 Aug 2025, excluding Wed 6, Mon 11 and Mon 18 August. Tickets are now on sale at pleasance.co.uk. Hot Mess transfers to Southwark Playhouse Elephant Thu 16 Oct – Sat 8 Nov 2025. Tickets can be booked here.
