Sir Matthew Bourne’s dazzling production of Sleeping Beauty has won the hearts of thousands and smashed box office records across the UK and the USA since its premiere.

New Adventures have revived this new classic in the repertoire to give audiences one more chance to see the final piece in the trio of Tchaikovsky masterpieces. If you loved Nutcracker! and the famous Swan Lake with a menacing all-male ensemble, this production will become another firm favourite.

With sumptuous sets and costumes, evocative lighting and masterly storytelling you will be transported in time from the halcyon days of the late Edwardian era through to the modern day. In a world full of magic, fairies, vampires, love and romance, all bought to life by New Adventures’ uniquely talented dancers – will Princess Aurora ever find her true love again?

Curtain Raiser, Thu 11 Feb 7.30pm
As part of our continuing relationship with Sir Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures, we are delighted to bring to the main stage for the 6th consecutive year, prior to the main production of Sleeping Beauty, a short dance piece highlighting the emerging talent of local young dancers and student choreographers. CLICK HERE for further information.

There will be an opportunity after the performance on Thursday, and again after the Friday and Saturday performances, for patrons to donate to a joint fund split equally between Re:Bourne (the charitable arm of New Adventures) and Hippodrome CREATIVE via foyer bucket collections.  Thank you for any support you are able to give.  This ensures these and other similar projects can continue to grow, benefiting young dancers across the region.

We gratefully acknowledge the support of Tilney Bestinvest to make this Sleeping Beauty Curtain Raiser project possible.
