Let’s ‘kid about’ on the streets of Southside!

This year, our two-day festival heads back to the carefree days of childhood with a programme full of FREE fun for kids of all ages.

On 14 and 15 July, the streets around Birmingham Hippodrome will be transformed into a summer playground with traditional funfair rides, retro games, and a whole host of exciting, nostalgic performances to spark the imagination. Stroll through the independent food stalls, have your face painted, and have a go at a whole range of craft workshops and family activities in our theatre foyers and around Southside.

There will also be theatrical delights for all, with plenty of exciting pop-up performances throughout the weekend. Join us for one of the highlights of the festival: a new commission from The Fabularium, who have starred at Summer in Southside 2017 with their engaging show, Reynard the Fox. The Fabularium specialise in storytelling, puppetry and outdoor theatre, and this year they will be bringing Tilting at Windmills to Summer in Southside to delight families once again.

Other confirmed artists include: Mufti Games, Fun DMC, Olivier Grossette, Fantabulosa, Dot Comedy, Virtual Reality Arcade, Pif Paf, Bostin Brass, Osadia, Festive Road & Gorillabot. More details coming soon…

Grab a pal or three, round up your family, and step into our weekend of sunny silliness and childhood delights.

Oh, and don’t forget…never grow up!
