About ‘Piece by Piece’

This year Move Midlands will be presenting another new work – ‘Piece by Piece’.

The performance will first showcase extracts and ensemble movements of a work in progress new writing, along with original scores. Inspired by collective healing, these vignettes hold stories of different characters, where hope is maintained in the presence of silencing systems, societal and cultural expectations, and multigenerational experiences. With a threaded theme, the performance will be followed by Playback Theatre – a unique form of improvisational theatre in which audience members are invited to share their stories and see them played back in the spot.

This year’s performance explores the interconnectedness of our lives, and how we all play a part of it piece by piece.
