Come and join us in the Atrium on Sat 15 Sep between 10.30am – 3pm where we are celebrating Extraordinary Women who have helped make the theatre what it is today.

From the women pushing boundaries and fighting for equality in the early variety days, to the leading ladies of Elphaba, Evita, Mary Poppins and even Matilda in more recent times, women have always had a large part to play in our history. We will be exploring those who have been portrayed on our stage, those who have actually appeared or performed here, and those who have had an impact on the local area.

You can also share and record your theatre memories, donate your Birmingham Hippodrome memorabilia or take a peek at our original archive materials. Our knowledgeable and friendly Heritage team will be on hand to chat about any of the items from our collection with you.

We are also hosting a series of free behind the scenes tours where you can get a glimpse of the auditorium and boxes and a chance to see some of the beautiful pieces in our archive collection. For more info and to book places CLICK HERE.

If you’d like to learn more about the women who have shaped the history of the theatre – come and listen to our free talk in the PwC Suite – Extraordinary Women – from 1-2pm. CLICK HERE to book places now.
