Chinese New Year celebrations welcomed in the Year of the Dog!

Sun 18 Feb between 11.30am and 4.30pm, FREE

Birmingham Hippodrome co-produced Chinese New Year 2018 with the Chinese Festival Committee.

As part of the day’s festivities in Chinatown, there were performances from Rosie Kay Dance Company, Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Chinese acrobats and circus performers, and much more in both Southside Square and our Patrick Studio.

There were also free craft workshops where families could make their own drum, Chinese lanterns, spiral dragons or masks, or add their name to our graffiti wall.

Fri 16 Feb - Lunchtime Concert & Lion Dance

Check out the lucky red tree wraps along Colmore Row, then join the Colmore BID Lion in the Cathedral Grounds for a FREE dance spectacle at 12.45pm! Then at 1pm, Conservatoire Showcase performers will be giving a FREE lunchtime concert in the cathedral. Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Showcase
