Information

The Lord-Lieutenant of the West Midlands presents the Awards to the best of our voluntary sector organisations at this special Awards Ceremony, celebrating the wonderful and varied talents of our volunteers and the groups that they create and support.

The King’s Awards for Voluntary Service, is the highest award that can be given to local volunteer groups to recognise outstanding work done in their own communities, it is the MBE for volunteer groups. The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service was created in 2002 to celebrate the anniversary of the coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. His Majesty King Charles III wishes to continue The Queen’s Legacy and recognise the significant contributions of volunteers each year across the United Kingdom hence the award is now known as The King’s Award for Voluntary Service.

Celebrating winners from 2023 the West Midlands are proud to have 18 voluntary organisations who will be receiving their prestigious awards at this special ceremony at Birmingham Hippodrome on Sun 14 Apr at 2.30pm.

Joining us this year are the winners of the Young Active Citizens Award.
