High-energy hip-hop, beat-boxing beasts, spook-tacular storytelling, creative crafts…when it comes to theatrical tricks (and treats!), we’ve got Half Term covered at Birmingham Hippodrome!

Bursting onto the Patrick Centre stage from Fri 27- Sat 28 Oct, Bouncing Cats and Boom Boom Pups is an immersive theatre show for ages 5-10 yrs combining rap, live graffiti art and freestyle hip-hop improvisation. Escape to Animaland with spoken word artist Maxwell Golden and graffiti artist Mr Dane for a fun and fresh live theatre experience performed inside a purpose-built graffiti installation.

For the first time this October Half Term, we’ll be opening up our Foyer Spaces for a week of free seasonal storytelling and festive crafts from Mon 23 – Sat 28 Oct. Legends and Lights will bring together a host of family-friendly activities inspired by Birmingham’s rich multicultural heritage, from spooky storytelling to Diwali-inspired lights, autumn arts and crafts to ‘Trick or Treat’ mask workshops, drop in, grab a warming cup of tea or coffee and join us for creative, crafty fun all week long.

Drop in between 10.30am – 4.30pm on Monday, Tuesday and Friday, and 10.30am – 1pm on Wednesday and Thursday.

We have built the day so that you can drop in for an hour long session or stay with us the whole day. There is a variety of activities throughout the week and something different to take away each day. You might make Diwali lights or Halloween lanterns, ‘Trick or Treat’ masks or a cape of Autumn leaves – plus there will be spooky storytelling and more to inspire you, all for free!

This is a family event, and children from the age of five will probably get the most out of it, but we will do our best to keep toddlers entertained as well. Parents can grab a coffee and relax – or have a go at all the activities too.
