What time does Ticket Sales open?
Our phone lines are open Mon-Fri 10am-6pm excluding any bank holidays.
Our ticket sales counter opens 1 hour pre-performance until 30 minutes after curtain up. It remains closed on non-performance days.

Can I book tickets via email?
Unfortunately, we are unable to take bookings or reservations via email or via the contact us page. Please call us on 0844 338 5000† or on 0844 338 7000† for group bookings (10 or more tickets).

I have an e-ticket – do I have to collect an actual theatre ticket?
No your e-ticket is your ticket to gain access, alternatively you can show a member of the Front of House staff your ticket on your mobile.

How do I receive my e-tickets?
Tickets will be emailed to you prior to your visit and will also be available to view from your Birmingham Hippodrome online account, approximately 2 weeks prior to your visit.

Do I need to print my tickets?
Tickets received by email are designed to be shown on your smart phone or other mobile device. You do not need to print out your tickets if are happy to display them this way on your visit. If you do want to print out your tickets, please access them by logging into your Birmingham Hippodrome online account and selecting the link for your tickets. You can then print them from your web browser.

I should have been sent my tickets by email, but I am not seeing them in my inbox. What can I do?
Please check your junk or spam folder for your tickets, as tickets can sometime end up in there. Tickets are sent from the email address onlinequery@birminghamhippodrome.com and will have the subject heading of “Your tickets”. If you can’t find them don’t worry – we are happy to resend or arrange for tickets to be available to collect at the box office. To request this please either phone us on 0121 689 1070 or use the contact us page.

Can I cancel a booking?
For our live performances, we cannot cancel or refund tickets once purchased but we may be able to exchange to another day of the same show.

I've lost my tickets, will I still be able to get into a performance?
If you have lost your tickets please get in touch with our Information and Sales team on 0844 338 5000* and we will issue duplicates for you to collect on the day of the performance, free of charge.

Can I book a wheelchair space online?
Wheelchair spaces can only be booked by calling us or coming in person to the box office at the theatre. Please call our access line on 0121 689 1060 (local rates apply).

Can I bring my children with me?
For certain live performances, yes. Please check the age guidance for the specific production you are looking to attend. We do not allow children under the age of 3 into the auditorium. Please see our terms and conditions for further details.

What COVID-19 safety measures do you have in place?

What time should I arrive?
We suggest that you arrive in plenty of time to ensure that you don’t miss any of the performance. The auditorium doors are open from approximately 30 minutes before the performance start time.

Can I take photographs in the auditorium?
For our live performances, photography and recording equipment is prohibited in the auditorium due to copyright law and to minimise any disturbance to the performers and other audience members.

What is your latecomers’ policy?
For our live performances, we are usually able to seat latecomers at a suitable break in the performance. The policy varies depending on the visiting company and which performance you are watching. We cannot guarantee that latecomers will be positioned in the seat that was booked until after the interval.

Do you have a car park?
Birmingham Hippodrome does not have its own car park although we can recommend The Arcadian Car Park, which is multi-storey. The address for this is 41 Bromsgrove Street, Birmingham, B5 6NU. They offer a Flat Rate for theatre-goers which is £7.50 when parking between 5pm and 7.30pm. This rate is valid until 11.30pm the same night. To get this rate, please pay when you arrive. The car park now uses vehicle registration recognition when you leave.

How long is the performance?
For our live performances, when we know the running times of the performance they will be published on our website. We will add it to the page for the production in the What’s On section of our website. Just select the show you are coming to see and select the information tab. We also display the end time of the performance in the foyer. Please note we don’t always know the running time of productions in advance, but we will add to production information as soon as we do.

Do you have a cloakroom?
Due to Covid-19 safety guidelines, our cloakroom is currently closed. Please only bring small bags to the theatre.

Can I take food and drinks into the auditorium?
For our live performances, drinks can be taken in the auditorium as long as they are in a plastic cup that is provided. No glassware is to be taken into the auditorium. Hot drinks must be in a cup with a lid. No hot food is permitted in the auditorium, but sweets are allowed. We recommend using one of our sharing cups to minimise any rustling noise. These are provided free of charge at the kiosks.

Will there be show merchandise available?
For our live performances, most shows will have merchandise available for sale, this is generally in the main foyers entering the theatre.

Can I pay by debit/credit card for purchasing sweets and programmes?
For our live performances, yes! Our kiosks and bars both accept debit/credit cards.

I'm seeing a show in the Patrick Studio - how do I find it?
The Patrick Studio is easily accessible from our Thorp St entrance or from Level 3 inside the theatre. Please ask a member of staff if you need pointing in the right direction.

Is there a dress code at the Hippodrome?
We do not have a dress code at the theatre. We just recommend that you wear something comfortable.

Do you have booster seats available for children?
We have a limited number of booster seats available on request upon entry to the theatre. We would recommend that you arrive early if your child requires one. Booster seats are available for a returnable deposit.

Can I leave before the end of the show as I have a train to catch?
Of course, and we are only a very short walk from New Street and Moor Street Station, please ask a member of staff for directions. If you are seated in the middle of a row and prefer to move to an aisle seat, please speak to a member of staff and we will try and move you.

What do I do if I have a complaint regarding my visit?
While you're at the theatre, please ask to speak to a Duty Manager. We would like to hear your comments and try to resolve them at the time of your visit. Any member of staff can contact a Duty Manager who are available pre-show, and also during the interval.
