The winner of 10 Tony and 5 Olivier Awards, Billy Elliot the Musical has been seen by almost 11 million people worldwide and has collected over 80 awards along the way.

Brought to life by the award-winning team behind the movie, Lea Hall (book and lyrics), Stephen Daldry (direction) and Peter Darling (choreography), joined by the legendary Elton John (music), Billy Elliot the musical is an extraordinary theatrical experience that continues to captivate audiences both here in the UK and around the world.

To celebrate the arrival of Billy Elliot the Musical in Birmingham, the four young actors sharing the role of Billy Elliot, Adam Abbou (13 years old from Liverpool), Emile Gooding (11 years old from Reading) Haydn May (12 years old from Bath) and Lewis Smallman (13 years old from West Bromwich) paid a visit to Birmingham’s Victoria Square for a high-kicking photo-call set against the backdrop of the iconic council steps and fountain on Tues 7th March.

Set in a northern mining town against the background of the 1984/85 miners’, Billy Elliot the Musical follows one boy’s journey from boxing to ballet class where he discovers a passion for dance that inspires his family and whole community and changes his life forever.
