Birmingham Hippodrome supports the work experience scheme by offering one week placements that are designed to give you an insight into the day-to-day life in a presenting theatre, exploring the range of work that goes on behind the scenes.
We offer a unique opportunity for students to spend a week working in a designated department that contribute to the running of Birmingham Hippodrome. The departments that you could spend a week working in are;
Communications, Marketing & Programming
Information & Sales (Box Office)
Catering & Events
Our placements are mainly aimed towards Year 10 & 11 students who show a genuine interest in the arts.
At Birmingham Hippodrome we don’t have our own in-house Costume, Make up, Wigs or Set Design Departments. All of these departments tour with the company, therefore we are unable to offer work experience in these fields.
How to Apply
To apply please download and complete a work experience application form. Don’t forget to tell us the department you wish to work in and which week you can do your work experience. Dates for work experience to take place in the upcoming academic year 17/18 will be released before the new school year starts.
If your application has been successful we will contact you to discuss the placement further and send out any paperwork. We do get inundated with requests for work experience so we will try and respond to your application as quickly as possible.
