Information

To chime with two very different approaches to Cinderella and the ballet Sleeping Beauty, Dr Victoria Flood explores the beginnings of these stories in a fascinating talk exploring fairy narratives in medieval culture, including an Old French version of Sleeping Beauty.

Dr Victoria Flood is a lecturer in Medieval and Early Modern Literature at the University of Birmingham, investigating the transmission of fairy narratives across borders in medieval and early modern Britain.

Good if you’re going to see Matthew Bourne’s Cinderella or Birmingham Royal Ballet’s The Sleeping Beauty.
