PART OF BIRMINGHAM WEEKENDER

A unique, gender-questioning take on the fairy tale Beauty and the Beast set in a dystopian South American landscape. Toro is a darkly comic and melodramatic spectacle about the fear and demonization of anything other, exploring issues of homophobia, colonisation and immigration.

Carlos Pons Guerra is a DanceXchange Associate and nominee for the UK Critics’ Circle National Dance Awards, ‘Best Emerging Artist’ 2015, and his company, DeNada Dance Theatre was UK Critics’ Circle National Dance Awards nominee, ‘Best Independent Company’ 2016.
