Sir Matthew Bourne will be in conversation on Wednesday 19th July from 12:15pm for guests who will also enjoy a light, Red Shoes inspired 2-course lunch with wine and the opportunity to network with attendees.

We have been lucky to work with producers and directors of great calibre who have combined artistic vision with box office and business success.  And we’re sure that business leaders throughout the city will be as inspired as we are by the insights and business acumen that our presenting partners can share. Birmingham Hippodrome – with its commercial head and artistic heart – has long been interested in the “business of Show Business”.  We have recently launched the first of a new occasional series of lunchtime events – aimed at the city’s corporate community –  which focuses on just that.

Alongside the run of The Red Shoes Sir Matthew Bourne has kindly agreed to share some of his secrets with a business audience including an opportunity for Q and A. From growing his company, New Adventures from small beginnings to the creator of an award-winning repertoire seen by over five million people worldwide, you’ll hear about his business and artistic journey first-hand.  The company has won countless awards, including The Stage International Award in 2017 in recognition of taking Sleeping Beauty to audience across Asia in 2016, a tour that reached over 70,000 people.

Now in its 30th year, Sir Matthew has choreographed not just the dancers, but also New Adventures’ business success. In conversation with our Director of Organisational Development, Helga Henry, he’ll share his lessons in business and insight. This is a rare opportunity to hear about his artistic and commercial accomplishments and the huge contribution he has made through the RE:Bourne charitable trust.
