What's On > Sister Act

Tue 9 - Sat 20 Oct 2012 (ARCHIVED LISTING)

Based on the movie of the same name, this fabulous, family-friendly, feel-good show is packed with songs inspired by Motown, funk, soul & disco, which more than a million people saw in the West End!

When disco diva Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a murder, she is put in protective custody in the one place the cops are sure she won’t be found - a convent! Disguised as a nun she makes the wrong impression on the strict Mother Superior. But when she transforms the choir into the most glorious musical act in town, Deloris forms a lasting bond with her newfound friends… and the gang that’s chasing her finds itself up against an unstoppable team of soulful sisters!

Saw the show Thursday evening with friends and kids too (yes on a school night!). It was good fun, uplifting and very well presented. Great singing and acting plus some genuinely funny laugh out loud moments. My son is still shocked he saw a nun's knickers! Certainly recommend.

I have seen this show at least eight times and I never tire of the excitement and feel good factor of the show. The cast are brill and I know they're probably all tired but it certainly didn't show last night. Well done to everyone front of house back stage, music makers and artists. Love it hope it tours again very soon.

As a regular theatre goer I was very much looking forward to seeing a new show. Even though it doesn't include the songs from the original film it doesn't deter from how brilliant this production in. Went on Saturday 13th October in Birmingham and it's the best show I've seen in years. The cast were absolutely fabulous and I can't wait to see it again!legu

Like Sylvia, watched it at Wolverhampton last night. AMAZING! I was in the back row of the gods and was able to stand up and have a boogie during the last number! ON MY OWN! And I didn't care! I grinned from start to finish. Best thing I have seen on stage for years! I want to see it again!!!
