Went to see the Lion King for the first time with my family and I was absolutely stunned by the singing, outfits, choreography, props and special effects. Unbelievable. Truly stunning, from the start to the end I couldn't take my eyes off the stage. Some of the things they did I didn't even think you could do on a stage. Worth every penny and thinking of seeing it again!
Dave Jones \\ 21/08/2013
I went to see the Lion King last night and was lucky enough to have front row seats. The whole production was absolutely amazing, hands down one of the best theater productions that I have seen. Would one hundred percent recommend to friends and family, and would definitely see it again next year if it comes to Birmingham. After the show whilst waiting outside the Hippodrome, we happened to spot one of the cast members who plays Mufassa, and he took photo's with me and my family and even sang happy birthday to my Mom. The whole production was breathtaking from start to finish.
Jessica \\ 21/08/2013

carrie white \\ 26/07/2013
A truly breathtaking and humbling show, which is superb from the opening scene through to the close. Was disappointed however that there was no encore and ending felt a bit abrupt tonight,
Rebecca \\ 25/07/2013
This was my 6th time seeing the musical and tonight showcased the best cast I've seen to date. The Birmingham crew has done an amazing job of the show and I was blown away by tonight's performance. Simply amazing!
Anna \\ 21/07/2013
The show was amazing loved every minute of it, I took my mom to see it as we love Disney and even though we saw it at a Disney park it was even better and sent chills down our spines would highley recommend it
donna \\ 19/07/2013
Went to see the Lion King yesterday! It was truly an amazing experience. The way the whole thing was choreographed and the costume design was amazing! The percussionists on the balcony(In clear view of the audience) really brought out this whole African style theme and the music was just breathtaking! If you get the opportunity I highly recommed you and go and see it! It's well worth the money. Its something you will never forget.
Matt Davis \\ 18/07/2013
Absolutely fantastic! I have been excited to see the performance for months and now that i have, breathtaking!! Please go and see this, it should be on peoples bucket list.
Lucy Morris \\ 17/07/2013
Utterly breathtaking from beginning to end. The scenery, costumes, music & singing were amazing & you really felt like you had been transported to Africa. It leaves you with memories that will last a lifetime. I had bought the tickets as a birthday gift for my Mum who was 80 in May & when the animals came down the aisles at the beginning, one of them stopped & bowed its head to be patted. It was as though he knew my Mum had celebrated a big birthday, it was a very special moment. Congratulations to the entire cast & musicians, you were fantastic. We would not hesitate to go & see it again.
Sarah \\ 11/07/2013
It's been four years since we last saw the show and I had forgotten how truly magical it is. The children also benefitted from being that little bit older this time and our eight year old was transfixed throughout ~ it was delightful watching his little face as the story unfolded around him. Our daughter too was incredibly moved and had tears streaming down her face in parts. The hippodrome really is a superb theatre and with excellent front row seats we felt very much part of the show ~ the life size elephant lumbering down the aisle was quite simply breath~taking. The whole cast worked immensely hard and created a majestic performance, so much so that I have finally persuaded my family to holiday in Kenya with me to see the animals for real (vaccinations have previously been a sticking point). On this occasion we brought along some friends with our family group and all ages enjoyed the show it really is not just for the children and I would recommend it to all. Thank you Hipp!!
Mrs T \\ 08/07/2013
Took a large party to see this Wednesday night, the production was spectacular, costumes and characters were outstanding, the only downside for us was the musical side of it, we didn't think there was anywhere near enough singing in the show. The lady who played the baboon had the most amazing voice, don't want to spoil it for people who haven't seen it yet but really think she would have been the perfect character to sing Circle of Life at the end. So all in all fab show well worth going to see but I think they missed a trick with the singing.
Sue \\ 04/07/2013
This is the best live show I have ever seen, the cast and costumes were fantastic and it had me in tears multiple times. This is the only show I have ever attended where the entire audience gave a standing ovation. I would love to go again some day!
Lauren \\ 04/07/2013
I took the children to see this in the States and they absolutely loved it. Delighted it has made its way to Birmingham. A fabulous show for all to enjoy!
