Cathy \\ 07/04/2012
We watched the show last night, (Fri 6/4/12) and was gobsmacked to say the least. The whole crew were breathtaking and the scenes/props were out of this world. Brian Conley as Fagin was tremendous, as was Cat Simmons as the role of Nancy. Kudos to the whole crew, from the actors to all that goes on backstage as well as the orchestra. A step back in time and one I'd throughly recommend. Keep up the good work! Thank you for a superb night!!

Saw Oliver! this afternoon. What a fantastic show, a great performance by all. Brian Conley was born to play Fagan! The set was amazing.Could happily have stayed and watched it all over again.
Michaela \\ 07/04/2012
We all really enjoyed Oliver last night. Having last seen it in Drury Lane (Rhy Jones & Prenger) a couple of years ago it was great to have the tour on home turf. Brian Conley was brilliant as Fagin ad-libbing hilariously when there was a small issue with the mics. Cat Simmons made a great Nancy with super renditions of oom pah pah and as long as he needs me. Harry Polden was our Oliver and mesmerising in the role. Bit sad not to see Max Greisbach as Dodger but only because we know him. Our little boy's favourite parts were all linked to Bullseye who was rather cute it has to be said. Great cast, fab sets, stellar performances ~ thank you for some super entertainment.
Back at the Circle for pre show dinner having frequented StageSide most recently ~ same menu, slightly more convenient but still nigh on impossible to squeeze drinks and desert into the interval but good fun trying!! Roll on May!
The Tennants \\ 06/04/2012
Saw the performance last night and we were fortunate to have seats at the front. Wow! What a fabulous show and we enjoyed it as much as seeing it in London when the production opened with one of the'TV Olivers', Jodie Prenger as Nancy and Rowan Atkinson as Fagin. Well done Brum Hipp. Another brilliant production and we will be back soon to see The King and I.

We went to see Oliver on Sunday 1st April with our 2 daughters. What an amazing show, the cast were all superb.Nancy`s voice sends chills down your spine, you could hear a pin drop when she sang. Neil Morrisey was fantastic very surprised at how talented he was. The back drops were out of this world. Cant praise the show enough.
Mrs Dawn Court \\ 04/04/2012
Absolutely Brilliant! One of the best shows we have ever seen! The whole cast were excellant, we were totally drawn in to the show from the start to finish. 5 stars!
Pauline \\ 03/04/2012
Fantastic show with spectacular scenery and costumes. Neil was brilliant as Fagin and Nancy was a treat too. If I had a criticism or three; the artful dodger's speaking parts were clipped and difficult to hear, the music overpowered "Food, glorious food" and at one point an errant stage light shone in eyes of the first 3 rows. But it was still fantastic and worth a visit.
Ian \\ 03/04/2012
We went to see Oliver on Thursday 29th March and what a wonderful performance. Really enjoyed Neil Morrisey and Nancy, but the rest of the cast was excellent. Had great seats in Row D of the stalls.

We went to see Oliver on Friday, 30th March. We regularly go to the theatre for a monthly girls night out. This was an excellent show. Would recommend it to everyone. Outstanding performances by Nancy and the Artful Dodger, although all the cast were excellent. The fact that everyone booed Bill Sykes instead of applauding showed how great he was at playing a villain! I'm sure we will see many of the children in shows in years to come.
Alison \\ 02/04/2012
Saw the show on Sunday 1st April (afternoon). Amazing show - great for anyone to watch (my husband and daughter aged 9 loved it too..) Great cast, scenary and songs.

Neil Morissey plays a brilliant Fagin. I know we will be seening the Artful Dodger in other shows as he was amazing.Got so drawn into the show that I was crying at the end. Such a wonderful experience that I will never forget thank you to all the cast.

First class production. Loved Neil Morrissey, Samantha (Nancy) and all the cast were excellent.
R Brandist \\ 27/03/2012
A great show which we both enjoyed. Fortunately it was a musical as it was very difficult in the upper circle to hear any more than 30% of the diaglogue, which made it hard at times to follow.
N. J. Davis \\ 26/03/2012
Oliver Twist excellent show - Nancy was amazing - Fagin played be Neil Mossisey was very good but often slipped into his own voice !!! got to keep in the style of Fagin. Would recommend seeing though as its fab fast excellent voices and dancing.

Phyl Packer \\ 26/03/2012
Fabulous show. Everything about it was excellent, the stars, the scenery and the singing.Enjoyed seeing Neil Morissey.
Angela \\ 26/03/2012
This production of Oliver had a lot to live up to for me having seen the drury lane production with rowan Atkinson and Jodie prenger a few years back. Was not disappointed, this was a great performance, particularly by Oliver, dodger, nipper and of course Neil morrissey who was more than capable of stepping into rowan's shoes as Fagin. A must see! Not to sure about Brian Conley though so I recommend you see it this week while morrissey still leads the cast.
Amie \\ 26/03/2012
I loved this production. My mum and I thought Neil Morrissey made a brilliant Fagin, we completely lost ourselves in the performance. Kara Lane was fantastic as Nancy too. We loved every minute of it.
Katie \\ 26/03/2012
Took our 7 year old grand daughter to see this. Absolutely brilliant - a truly magical experience and would recommend it for children of a similar age as well as adult. You will not be disappointed. Congratulations to all of the cast in the performance.
Malcolm \\ 26/03/2012
Really enjoyed the show, it was excellent. Every cast member performed brilliantly.
Jackie \\ 26/03/2012
This is the first time i have ever responded to a review.
Neil Morrisey was beyond belief, what an incredible interpretation of the character Fagin.
You could see by his facial expressions and body stances that he was loving the performance as much as the paying public.
Nancy was brilliant with that booming cockney accent of hers which extended all along the songs she sang.
Ileave the best thing till last though. THE SCENERY and its changes from scene to scene. The movement of scenes in the London streets was amazing, you thought you where really there and the streets where not restricted by the stage depth, i am sure i saw parts of Warwick old town a couple of times.
Awonderful evening out.
larry \\ 26/03/2012
Went to see Oliver! We were all absolutely blown away! Any show that keeps 3 children glued to their seats must be good. All the children were absolutely fantastic and I have never watched anything so entertaining. Nancy had such a powerful voice it raised the roof! The part of Fagin was made for Neil Morrissey, he had you believing he was that person and I got so drawn into it I never wanted the show to end. Neil was good enough to allow us into his dressing room at the end because it was my sons birthday. What a wonderful, friendly and down to eath person he is. Thank you to everyone there, but especially Neil for making our night one to remember.
DEBBIE \\ 26/03/2012
Just returned from a weekend in Birmingham and the highlight was both the show and the pre theatre dinner at the Hippadrome. Both were excellent and would recommend to anyone visiting the area. The cast were brilliant, especially The Artful Dodger but as a group they were magnificent. Its a must see show and I think Brian Connelly will make an excellent Fagin. Credit to the people back stage the stage setting and costumes were excellent. Also the restaurant staff were polite and efficient and the meal was superb. We will definately be back.

Nancy has a wondeful, strong voice. The whole cast did very well. My 10 year old loved it as much as me. Didn't want the show to end. Went home singing all my favourite songs and continued to do so for the next week after.

Saw Oliver last week on Saturday. Enjoyed the show as a whole although wasn't blown away as I have been before at the Hippodrome. Nancy unfortunately was ill for the second half of the show but her understudy did brilliantly to pick up the role mid way through. Neil Morrisey was very good, didn't realise he could sing! Struggled with hearing some of the speech, sound appeared to be very quiet - we were quite far back! On the whole was a good show.
Becky \\ 21/03/2012
What a super performance by all of the cast! Neil Morrisey was extremely good but the most outstanding singing performance was by 'Nancy' - what a powerful voice indeed. An excellent show, no matter how many times you've seen 'Oliver'! Well done to all the children.

Saw this last Saturday. Fantastic show, thoroughly enjoyed it.
The opening number by the workhouse children put goosebumps up my spine, brilliantly done. All the songs were very well done, though on a personal note felt a bit more could have been made of OomPahPah. Choreography great, wasn't expecting to see so many people on the stage at once. The sets were brilliant. A few issues with sound early on. Neil Morrisey and excellent Fagin and Nancy was sung fantastically. My first visit to Birmingham Hippodrome and very pleased with the leg room on offer, one of the better ones I've been to. Will be back. Well done all.

Saw Oliver! at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London a few years ago and it was abseloutly amazing! So glad it's going on tour as it has fantastic songs, brilliant sets and scene changes and costumes and Brian Conley will surely be a great Fagin! As I said for the Cinderella page he will be excellent as he is an all-round entertainer and is fantastic in whatever he does! Compared to past excellent shows at the Hippodrome such as We Will Rock You, Les Miserables, Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and the Sound of Music! Oliver! will be a fantastic show that you couldn't ask for MORE!
