Join Ann and Opus Front of House Director, Irene Allan to sample their newest destination venue at stunning One Snowhill. See you in September!
The 2014-2015 calendar ended in fizzy style with a Laurent-Perrier Champagne Tasting & Tutorial. Laurent-Perrier’s Steve Brandwood and Tony Carter put 40 guests through their paces, revealing the history and production process of the French family-owned luxury brand. Topping the tasting polls were the well-known rose and Ultra Brut.
Among the guests were new network members Elaine Elkington (Elaine Elkington & Associates Ltd), Linda McBride (CRB Consulting Rooms) and Beth Rose from network sponsor Highfield Wellness and Beauty.
Walking away with the first prize magnum of Laurent-Perrier in the draw was HSBC’s Victoria Emery and other lucky winners enjoyed the hand-created posies supplied by Carole Patilla of Tuckshop Flowers. The evening raised a sparkling £900 for Hippodrome Plus.
Imgaes form the evening can be found via the Gallery button on the top right-hand side of the page.
We look forward to seeing you when Leading Ladies resumes networking on Wed 16 Sep with an on-the-move event at Bar Opus hosted by Birmingham Hippodrome Theatre Trustee and Opus Managing Director, Ann Tonks.
Leading Ladies were curious no more after our event at the award-winning National Theatre drama, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.
Network founder Fiona Alexander talked to show lead, Chris Ashby about the challenges of the role. Also on the panel; Richard Hayhow from Open Theatre Company, the Hippodrome’s Liz Leck and Hayley Hill of Irwin Mitchell shared their experiences of working and volunteering with young people with learning disabilities.
The upcoming Hippodrome Plus project, Nobody Nose! featured in the discussion (and made an appearance!) Based on Nikolai Gogol’s satirical short story, Nobody Nose! is a short film made by the One of a Kind drama group with a world premiere taking place at The Electric Cinema on Thu 2 Jul. We hope to see some of you there.
Certainly no one stuck their nose up in helping to support Hippodrome Plus – guests raised a whopping £1,000! Our thanks to all guests and generous prize partners: Genting Casinos Chinatown & Edgbaston, El Borracho de Oro, Sealife Centre, Highfield Wellness & Beauty, Sana Vita health club, Cheryl’s Hair Boutique and The Edgbaston boutique hotel and cocktail lounge.
